The 99 Theses on Ethics in Artificial Intelligence: A Dialogue for Everyday People

Image
Changes to the way we interact with and consume technology are happening rapidly. Let's take a moment to pause and elevate the focus on ethics in AI. I'm sharing the following chat session for your consideration. I'll leave these here for future deep dives here on each topic. Go ahead & get started on your expansion of them!  Sharing is caring 🕯️ Thanks! Lora --- # The 99 Theses on Ethics in Artificial Intelligence: A Dialogue for Everyday People ## Introduction As we move further into the 21st century, artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly becoming a part of our daily lives. From the virtual assistants on our smartphones to the algorithms curating our social media feeds, AI is everywhere. But as this technology evolves, it brings with it a host of ethical questions that we all need to consider. This blog post aims to present 99 theses—or points—for us to ponder and discuss as we navigate this new frontier. --- Certainly! Creating a comprehensive lis...

Prompt Monkey AI

Image
As an AI enthusiast, I have a lot of thoughts about this emerging technology. The kind that I get excited about – new ways to engage in creativity, learning, and productivity. Genuinely, I see emerging art forms in the AI space. Regarding writing and publishing, it's valid for readers who want to avoid engaging with AI content to have an additional collaboration category or a human-AI collaboration with topics broken down within the new class. It's exciting to see what we can create with AI, and labeling the works as collaborations is an excellent way to showcase the synergy between humans and AI. About this artwork, I am self-curating with this post. Sitting in a dark hospital room, keeping my Mother company, I discovered the Wonder AI art generator. I was amazed! I have always admired various art forms – paintings, photography, and digital art. While I can doodle with the best of them, I have never been skilled with brushes or pencils. I did paint a mediocre picture of a whit...

Harmony and Balance

ChatGPT is my favorite ai chatbot. Even though I engage with this new tool, I still hold on to some reservations. Some discussions need to happen. Though I have yet to consider all the uses of AI in my personal life, I have yet to discover them all. No doubt, there is probably a way someone could exploit it or cause harm; I think there would need to be some ethical guidelines & considerations for use.  ChatGPT is a valuable resource.  Many people I know have reservations and don't want to engage AI; I completely understand.  It was easier for me to stick my toe in and wade in the waters because I realized we have already been engaging AI via our smartphones.  I write 100% of my own content. I will always attribute any ai tech or chatbot I use & ensure it is flagged as such. I present to you my human-crafted storyline- AI was given to us to use for a predetermined amount of time to evaluate if we humans would use it responsibly. We did. As with all societal ch...

Only One Issue so far- Update Google AMD Raven Ridge Chromebook

Image
I received my first Chromebook on June 16th and am thrilled with my purchase. I wrote a glowing 5-star review on my blog that night. The device has a slight learning curve but is easy to use and has impressive battery life. I believed I had everything I needed with my Chromebook and Sandisk drive. However, I need help importing posts from Medium to Blogger. After researching the issue, I discovered that the zip file needs to be converted to XML format before it can be imported into Blogger while keeping the canonical links intact, and this can only be done on a Windows device. I don't want to purchase a Windows device, so I'm looking for a workaround solution. I would appreciate any advice you can offer.  I'm continuing to research.  I'll update the fix here when, fingers crossed, I find one.  I still love my Chromebook.  Update 8/24/23- I figured it out! I will share the fix and what I learned in a future post! Thanks for stopping by!

User Experience: Healthcare in North America (Supply Chain Issues)

I lost my Mother in February. I had the honor of having her move in with me for the last nine months of her life. I envisioned special moments for us, showing her around my new home in Kentucky since 2014- and all that goes with making the most of our time with our Mother.  We did have good times and good talks. However, it was constantly overshadowed by navigating the healthcare system on her behalf & acting as her advocate to the best of my ability for aspects of her care. At the same time, I was holding down a full-time job.  I had already exhausted my paid time off and had no more resources to use to be off work and keep the lights on-this compounded our stress. I felt like I was failing.  She initially got sick in Oklahoma and spent a month in the hospital in Arkansas. When she recovered enough to discharge home, we moved her in with us in our home in Kentucky.  I've experienced the healthcare system in two different regions during her care. I was tak...

Remote Workers Helping the Environment

Image
Remote working means you can't freeze me because we both control our thermostats. I wonder how much that saves companies in electrical use alone with remote workers managing their climates & utilities. It's a green job… Could we perhaps see a remote workers' tax break in the future? For Employers and employed?   Remote working has advantages, not only for the worker to work from their home office but also for employers.  I would go so far as to say, especially as the trend continues toward remote work,  that we collectively impact our environment for the better.   Have you ever wondered how working from your home benefits our environment?  I have weeks I don't drive at all. I'm not spending as much at the pump or burning as much fuel when I go. I install cost-effective energy-saving appliances etc. I am paperless in my remote work & also researching ways to reduce my waste.   As I mentioned, we control our home environment for one. Nobody ...

Telecommuter Life

Image
On Blogger's platform, I am writing about blogging & writing. Mostly.   I include writing about platforms I like, things that help me with productivity, and my insights from working as a telecommuter since 2017.   Remote work is not for everyone.  It has been a godsend for me & I'm grateful for my telecommuting employment.  Follow along as I talk about telecommuter life-jump in the discussion too!  (There will likely be poetry here and there too...) Blogger's platform provides the best and most simplistic user experience. Creating and publishing a post is straightforward & easy to navigate. Widgets are paired down & easy to manipulate. It seems like the perfect place to blog about remote working, telecommuter life & all things related to the lifestyle.  Funny- I looked for 30 minutes for the featured image option for my post until I realized there wasn't one- at least not with my template.  Not a deal breaker...I can add i...
